The purpose of this literature review is to critique training studies that have examined the effects jump-landing programmes on bone health parameters in premenopausal women. Activities such as jumping and hopping been proposed achieve desired unusual or atypical strain distributions skeleton for women who are habitually inactive not involved high-impact sports, however specific protocols optimise currently lacking. From review, it can be concluded that; utilise brief episodes (10 - 100 jumps/day, 3 7 days/week), 4 18 months duration, present loading magnitudes between 2 6 body weights (BW) rates >43 BW.sˉ¹, result significant gains femoral neck mineral density 0.6 – 3.4% Evidence from has potential inform future exercise recommendations used improve during critical period, both reduce delay incidence osteoporotic fracture years post menopause.
